London to Fes - interesting route ideas?

Hi everyone,

We are looking at different options for getting from London to Fes at the end of August. One idea was to fly to Madrid and take the train from there. There are many stops along the way to choose from. We were thinking to stop in Algeciras or Tangier (which is better?) and then continue along from there.

The 'less exciting' way was to take the train from london to brussels and then fly from brussels to fes.

All ideas and advice are greatly appreciated!

thanks!

Flying to Madrid would enable you to have an evening in the restaurants serving suckling pig and other delicacies around Plaza Mayor, see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plaza_Mayor,_Madrid

You could also take the train all the way from London to Morocco, see http://www.seat61.com/Morocco.htm
