Ben Youssef Medrasa - closed for public due to some repairs

Hi,

We visited Marrakech last week (January 8 - 11). But unfortunatelly Ben Youssef Medrasa was closed and a few people told us it might take a longer time.

As we'd like to go again to Marrakech and some other places in Morocco - could someone tell me how long Medrasa will be closed for public.

No one can tell you this, it will take as long as necessary.

@shimmin2robertson

Thank you. Now I know I must cancel going inside Medrasa. But I've read that a place around Medrasa itself is worth to be seen. Would you advice to go there and have a look?

@molik0777

We started our days after "a lazy breakfast", I mean about 10am. It was about 14 deg (C) then. But during a day (especially on 11th and 12th) temperature used to reach 20 deg. After the sunset temperature quickly goes down so be prepared for that.

Well the musee de le photographie is nearby but the musee de Marrakech is really only interesting for the architecture.

Of course, it's worth visiting the nearby koubba -

There is work at the koubba too, though you can look at it through the fences while the workers are working!

@shimmin2robertson

Thank you for the suggestion. I looked at the map again and I can see there're Musee du Parfum and Musee Boucharouite not so far away from Medrasa. If we had time to visit only one of them - which one would you advice?

@AlanPalmer, @doofvfood

Thank you both for pointing another place. That's a pity it's not fully open. Maybe it'll be by the end of April, when we plan to come to Marrakech again.

Michal ... do you know about these other small museums?

Tiskiwin, Si Said and Mouassine?

I haven't been to them yet, but the reviews are excellent. Check them out, they'll keep you occupied for a while. :-)

I highly recommend the Boucharouite Museum, it's something quite unique

Second nbrika's recommendation, Boucharouite Museum. A little awkward to find though, unfortunately.
