Half day trip to the Atlas Mountains from Marrakesh?

As we are only staying in Marrakesh for 3 days, is it possible to get into the mountains and see a village/waterfall etc in a half day excursion? We don't want to spend hours travelling, but would like to see some of the beautiful remote sites away from the busy city, and we are not fussed about stopping off for lunch or to buy souvenirs. Any advice or experience would be great. Thank you.

A trip to the Ourika Valley (Setti Fatima) is going to be the quickest trip for you to do, you can leave Marrakech at 10am and be back around 3-4pm.

If you don't want to stop at every souvenir shop along the way, then you would be best booking a private trip (either a taxi or a private driver, it will cost a total of around £50-£80). Your hotel/riad will be able to organise this for you.

Hi,

Tnine Ourika named after the market is a saffron and organic herb farm and an easy and interesting half day trip from Marrakech. Your riad or hotel will be able to help organize a driver.

Great post. I was about to ask the same question. I'm heading to Marrakech for a weeks holiday and fancied popping to the Atlas Mountains one day. This has answered my question.

Thank you!
