Did this and back in a day a course of days ago and wanted to update for anyone looking to do the same. The road from Telouet towards Ait Benhaddou is being relaid for a significant stretch outside Telouet so (in a tiny Kia) a road that could have taken an hour took almost 2 and was basically driving over potholes, red sand and rock for 45 mins - 1 hour.
Our hire car was covered in swirly scratch marks and orange hand prints when we got back to it after an hour in Ait Benhaddou but we were luckily not charged by the hire company - is this type of thing normal? Amazing place so can't recommend it highly enough but main road in / out full of weirdos who walk in front of cars to get your attention and bang on your windows when you stop. Is this normal as well or were we just unlucky?
Other point on the way to the Kasbah in Telouet, just keep driving through the street with the shops and restaurants and past the restaurant a little further on clad in stone and turn right where the Kasbah in signposted - when you arrive it's confusing as to where your supposed to be going and whether you have to stop and walk from the street that looks more developed - you don't.
Cafe at the top of the Col du Tichka is pretty bad and with a terrible view so just stop, take a picture with the sign at the summit and drive on. Older gentlemen with shops up at the summit also mad.
Cafe Assanfou (?) at the bottom of the pass on the Marrakech side is recommended in a few guides on online - it has an amazing view up to the mountains but was full of about 30 young men who were intentionally intimidating and heckling us. We walked in expecting to eat but quickly bought 2 cans of coke and left as fast as we could.
Driving over Tizi n Tichka easy as pie in a small 2WD and anyone with even basic experience of driving around a European City will find the bends and need to overtake lorries on sharp corners a breeze. The picture you see of the hairpin bends when you google Tichka Pass is (as far as I can understand from this 1 experience) actually a descent along the piste road from Telouet to Ait Benhaddou and not on the main N9 (?) highway through the pass. Just FYI if you want to see / drive it. Unless someone can correct me on this.
We left Marrakech at 9am and drove pretty constantly with 1 stop on the way to Telouet (on the piste road) and 1 stop on the way back from Benhaddou (along the highway) and 1 hour in Telouet and 1 hour at Ait Benhaddou, arriving back to car rental in Marrakech just before 8pm.
