Advice on Marrakech

Planning a trip to Marrakech at end of Nov but really confused about where to stay, what to do! Can anyone give some suggestions on nice riads to stay in that are special/romantic but won't break the bank. All the good ones seem to be booked up. Thanks!

It would be helpful to know which places you've already contacted, as well as what your budget is...

We have just returned from a week at 'Dar Zahai' Marrakech.

It is a tiny riad (only three bedrooms) but the interior is stunning and the bedrooms peaceful and beautiful. The staff were wonderful and spoke reasonable English(although were fluent in French)

We had originally tried to book the place next door (Riad Magellan) and it was full but the owner also owns Dar Zahia so we booked into there instead.

We paid 90euro a night (bed and breakfast) and compared to other places we saw whilst in Marrakech felt this was very reasonable.

You can contact Dar Zahia on www.dar-zahia.com

Enjoy your trip!

Have you tried Riad de l'Orientale? (www.riadorientale.com). I stayed there a couple of years ago and it was great, but not over expensive. It's run by a Frenchman and the breakfasts (on roof tops, of course) are excellent.. They come & pick you up at the airport ior at a specified point in town to guide you through the medina to the riad. Good luck.
