Yellow fever when transiting in Addis Ababa

Hi

Can someone please tell me if I need yellow fever vaccine is staying in Addis Ababa airport for approximately 4 hours?

I read in some posts you don't need it if only transiting, but a friend travelled last month and she was asked to show she and her family received the vaccine. Don't know if you say you were only transiting they let you in?

Thanks in advance

Hi!

You do not need any YFV if you transit Addis Ababa. I was in Addis Ababa some years ago when I was transiting the airport getting a connecting flight and nobody asked me anything. Also on April one of my friends was transiting the airport of Ethiopian capital and he was not asked also. From which country was coming your friend when she was asked to show YFV certificate? Did she have a YFV proof?

Miki
