We booked a trip to south africa for mid November through african safari expert (mia schoeman). As per the terms of the booking we paid the 30% deposit by mid july. Subsequent to this we were told the hotel we were initially supposed to stay in Johannesburg is no longer available and were asked to choose few other airport hotels, unless we paid more. Then after a week we were told park fees were higher so we had to pay more. Recently we had to cancel our trip because of a visa issue. Despite giving more than 30 days notice, Africa safari expert refused to refund any part of the deposit. We found it extremely unprofessional that we were asked to pay more, despite agreeing to a fixed quote and we werent even paid back a portion of the deposit. Be careful of this company and their cancellation policies.
