Haven't done this trip so maybe a bit unfair to comment but having read the itinerary it seems like you have 15 days of continuous travel.

You will be driving virtually from one end of the country to the other so yes you will see a lot but very briefly. Kruger for example will be a day visit we go every year and spend 2 weeks in and around Kruger every year. Cape Town - same thing, you will get 1-1.2 days we can still spend 2 weeks exploring the area even after 11 visits.

Everyone has different ideas but the thought of travelling continuously for 15 days, different accommodation every night is not for me, If however it appeals to you then you would certainly see a continually changing scene.

Looks a bit rushed to me as well, I particularly don't like the travel to Oudtshoorn & back to Kynsna on day 12 & then day 13 Kynsna to CT is very long probably along the N2 which maybe quite boring.

A couple of years ago, we did a similar trip- 18 days from memory. We enjoyed it immensely. There is a lot of travelling, but it was great to see the diversity of South Africa. We did however have extra days in Capetown, then flew to Nelspruit/Kruger to finish with a 3 day Sabi Sand safari. The safari was definitely the highlight of our trip!

My husband & I have done the 12th August 2012 trip (we are in our sixties) & enjoyed it immensely. We found it good value for the money we paid. There is a lot of travelling over 4000 KM & it is tiresome at times but it depends on what appeals to the individual. I must say we were blessed with good weather, tour guide & driver. Its a beautiful country with a lot of history & I feel priviledge to have been there.

Comments from both sides of the fence and I think both are right. There are a few of these ride-till-you-die sorts of tours and I have yet to see a negative comment about the amount of travel. Sometimes - criticism of a specific hotel or comments from a traveler who didn't really want to spend time in a craft factory, etc. Generally, though, people who take these tours get their money's worth. This, despite the fact that their 'safari' experience is nothing more than a poor attempt to offer the group some glimpse of some animals. On this trip, apparently from the bus window.

Here's one I like better - more meals, no diversion to the Midlands. Though you are required to purchase one internal flight at your own expense: thompsonsafrica.com/escorted-tours/…

Hello and I have travelled round SA quite a bit and my only comment would be that you should consider adding a couple of flights into your trip. Distances are big and flying would save time and you can still book cars from various airports. I am biased and spend most of time in KwaZulu Natal, which encompasses Zululand, and on a web site I contribute to you will find a stack of information. www.safarikzn.com
