Honeymoon South africa

Can I please have your help.

We are planning our honeymoon December/January 2012 in South Africa. We have 15 nights. We are doing New Years in Cape Town and then we would like to visit Kruger Park for 4 nights (our first safari) and then we are thinking of going to Sun City or Victoria Falls. Is Sun City worth the visit? . We are taking a flight from Cape Town to Johanesburg. Are shuttles/cars to drive you to Sun City or Kruger Park? Is it dangerous? We do not want to loose our time in airports as we would like to see as much as possible. What other places are worth the visit having in mind our short period of stay.

Any help very much appreciated.

Has to be Vic Falls. I would rather fly from Cape Town to Nelspruit, just outside of the Kruger, and rent a car there. Suggest you search the forum as your question has been posted many times, several of them recently.

Sun City is a very nice, but fake Disneyworld type Casino Complex with a water park. Victoria Falls is real. Depends what you are into.

Thank you very much for the info... Sun City -deleted- Some friends suggested it to us but I was not convinced.

We are arriving 30 December 2011 to Cape Town and we want to make New Years there. How many days we need to see Cape Town? We would like to visit the Vineyards area as well. Husband is a wine person, so a must see. We would like to do the Garden Route as well but will it be too much? Is better to fly from Port Elizabeth to Kruger? From Kruger can we drive to Victoria Falls or is better to skip Victoria Falls altogether. We want to relax and see things. I am of a more adventurous and curious (I wanna see everything person) but my husband is more relaxed type of person. As well we do not want to loose time in airports. We have friends as well that visited SA that say is dangerous to self-drive etc . Is that true? And too much info out there....that we cannot make up our minds. We just want to decide how many days where and is really hard...

Hi there mp2783

The amount of days to spend in Cape Town to get to know the City and it's bright colours will be about 4days. With Table Mountain, Robbin Island, The V&A Warefront, Camps Bay,etc, you will have enough time to do that. I can also suggest that you can end your days off in the Wine Lands. Maybe in Stellenbosch or Franschoek. I got to know this lovely Boutique Wine Estate, www.lovane.co.za , that does B&B. Imagine getting up in the morning and looking over the vineyards. You can then take the R62 and end up in Oudtshoorn. Spend 1night there and then make your way to Knysna. 2nights will do to make your way around Knysna. Then drive towards Port Elizabeth, it will be a 2hour30min drive to get there. From Port Elizabeth you then take your flight, with no need to overnight, and fly to Nelspruit. Much closer to Kruger, and spend at least 4days there. With 4 more days left you can then make your way to Vic Falls and then return to Johannesburg and fly out from there. All of the above you can do on a selfdrive schedule, but it also depends on how you would like to do it. It will make you also on the other hand feel very much relaxed if you can have somebody behind the wheel and maybe take a nap or just enjoying the views. The roads are very clearly marked and we have very good maintained roads.

Enjoy planning your trip to South Africa.

If you want a quiet place to relax for a feew days and spoil yourself try Massinga Beach Lodge in Inhambane Mozambique ( they are here on Trip Advisor ) my wife went there on a girls weekend and said it was fantastic. I do know there are package prices including flights on the Mango airline site ( think it is www.flymango.co.za )

Hi Nikunj,

I think it might be worthwhile starting a new thread (with a slightly different topic line), as your requirements are a little different to the original poster's, but that's up to you. This topic is about 5 months old. Many posters might continue posting replies that tend to answer the OP's questions, thinking they are still current.

But there are certainly many good ideas above. Enjoy your honeymoon.
