Has anyone travelled form Cape Town to London on the Airbus 332, if so does it have personal seatback TV's?
as a followup.. anyone ever take the flight from JFK to Johannesberg on SAA? Thoughts? I booked business for myself.. hoping that the pictures on line with the full lie back seats are actually true.
We flew in April. No seatback TVs on the Cape Town route, only Jo'burg. Really quite frustrating!
seatguru.com may help with your question. Good luck
Yes - the Business Class photos are accurate. Seats turn into lie-flat beds, and the 2-2-2 configuration works very well - though I advise choosing one of the seats in the middle '2'. No one to step over (as there is if you sit by the window) no one to step over you (as there is if you sit on the aisle in a seat on the side).Edited: 13 September 2011, 14:02
i did look at seatguru... but wasn't 100% sure which airplane i would be going on... so i just guessed.. but i think i did look at the 2-2-2 configuration. I am usually a window girl (like to look out and gaze at what is below).. but may take your advice and be an aisle girl this time round.. not sure. thanks for the confirmation
The 330-200, which SAA sometimes fly on the LHR-CPT route, definitely does have seat back TV with Video on demand. A pretty good progamme selection Video and Audio. Good sized screen also. Also has 3mm headphone jacks so you can use your own headphones - flysaa.com/Journeys/…Economy
The normal plane on this route is still the old Airbus 340-200 which, as sandsy says, does not have seatback video. Although the last CPT-LHR flight I was on, in June, they put on an Airbus 340-300 which does have seatback video - confusing!
BTW Redlionny. If you have a totally different question it is much better to open up a new thread rather than tag onto an existing one. Otherwise the answers can get even more confusing! You are talking about a totallyt different plane, on a different route and in Business rather than Economy!!Edited: 13 September 2011, 18:18
Thanks guys, I have discoverd the scheduled plane for my trip will be the new 332 so I might be lucky ( if they don't change the plane )
