Using UK hair straighteners

Last time I visited South Africa my (at the time, fairly old) GHD straighteners didn't work. I now have a new set and a new adaptor, am I likely to still have problems? For example I know they don't work in the US because they're on a different voltage to the UK, didn't know if the same was true of South Africa.

SA mains runs on the same voltage as here in the UK (230V) so you aplliances will be fine.

However, be advised, in some places with generators it may not be as reliable!
