Madikwe or Kwande in November?

Hi everyone,

My husband and I are planning a trip to SA at the end of November. We plan on just doing Cape Town and a 3 night safari trip, but we can't decide between Madikwe & Kwande. We want a great safari experience, with lots of wildlife, but we also don't want to be uncomfortable in unbearable heat...Also, while we are in Cape Town, we are not keen on the 10 hr drive to Kwande along the garden route...

Would LOVE your feedback because we just can't decide.

Thanks!

If you have the flexibility, then I would include the Garden Route in your itinerary (3 or 4 nights). It really is a very beautiful area and there are lots of really great things to do.

You will not be disappointed in the safari experience at either Madikwe or Kwandwe.

November weather is hard to predict but it SHOULD be cooler in the Eastern Cape and there SHOULD be less chance of rain.

I do believe Madikwe would be warmer.. But here's a place where you could get some statistics.. Wunderground.com

Look here - wunderground.com/global/stations/68842.html - for Port Elizabeth. Down on the left is a set of pulldown menus where you can get weather history.. just look at a couple of Novembers. Put in a date (like the 15th) and when the results come up, there will be an option to look at the monthly charts for November for that year. Same thing here for Gaborone, Botswana, which is so close to Madikwe you can see the lights of the city from some parts of Madikwe reserve: wunderground.com/global/stations/68244.html

How does this really help? It eliminates our opinions, and guesses.. hahaha..

Colin is right - Grahamstown or even Fort Beaufort will give a far better indication of weather than Port Elizabeth
