October or November in Cape Town and Kruger

Thinking of visiting Cape Town and Kruger. Can't decide between OCTOBER or NOVEMBER. Would appreciate info on differences in weather (humidity, temp., rain, etc), and animal viewing. Thanks

The later into the year, the more the vegetation in the safari areas will have regrown from its winter starkness. Sometimes travelers who do their game drives in the SAfrica winter are surprised at how so much of the landscape looks bleak and almost dead - but that does make it the best time for spotting the wildlife. So, from that standpoint, October is better. I just did 9 nights on safari from 27OCT through 04NOV - flew back to the US on the 5th. Turns out that this was the time when 'the bush' became bushy again. You felt that the trees and bushes 'greened up' a little more each day. As for humidity, never much of a problem and certainly not those months. Temperatures are just about perfect.

I'd go with October. The weather in the Cape region should be moderating and it's a great time for land-based whale watching, if that is of interest. The weather in Kruger will not be excessively hot and chances for rain are lower.
