Hello, I wonder of anyone can help.
We are planning nearly 3 weeks in SA, Mozambique and Zambia or Zimbabwe over Xmas and New Year’s. We are still ‘playing about’ with the dates and I wonder if anyone could perhaps help with our itinerary? So far the following is set on stone:
24th Dec - fly into Johannesburg to spend xmas with friends out at Hartbeespoort.
28th Dec - drive to Mozambique to spend New Year’s with a group of friends at the beach
3rd January – drive back to Johannesburg
9th January @ approx. 1.30pm we fly from Livingstone back to Johannesburg for our onwards flight home to Scotland on the 11th January.
So, we have from the 4th January till the 9th January still to plan. Ideally we would like to spend some time at the Victoria Falls and, some time on Safari. What do you think would be the best use of our time during this period and, in what order should we do it? Should we fly from Johannesburg to Livingstone or, should we fly into somewhere else and then return from Livingstone – fitting in a few days safari somewhere? Or, will it be too much to try and do the Falls and Safari in these few days? Would it be better to just do the Falls, perhaps flying into Zimbabwe and out of Zambia so as we spend time on both sides? If you think we have time to do safari where would you suggest? From Johannesburg or from the Vic Falls?
Without flights our budget will be approximately £1500 for the 2 of us. We spent 3 weeks in South Africa last year for our honeymoon and that was very much a luxury trip including the Rovos Rail and private Game Reserves etc For this trip, we are looking at more of a budget trip BUT, certainly not hostels etc
Many thanks in advance for any thoughts or suggestions you may have!
