Help with Tanzania Zanzibar honeymoon!

I'm looking into Tanzania/Zanzibar itineraries for my honeymoon in January 2008. I've got a quote from Tropical Trails for the following itinerary and was just wondering if anyone knew anything about the company or any of the lodges and whether they would be good places to visit at this time of year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

This is the rough itinerary:

Overnight Karama Safari Lodge BB

Overnight at Maramboi tented camp

Overnight Lake Manyara Serena

Two nights at Mbalageti tented camp

Overnight Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge

Overnight at Ngorongoro Farm House.

Overnight Karama Lodge

followed by 7 nights Fumba beach lodge Zanzibar

Thanks for the advice, that doesn't sound good.... Do you have any recommendations for other lodges in a better location for that time of year?

Hello there,

Hope you have a great honeymoon, I have been in Tanzania in late January and it was a great time of year there. A couple of places you may want to check out and or add to your itinerary are Greystoke Mahale ( http://www.greystoke-mahale.com/ ) and Chumbe Island, Zanzibar. Greystoke is pure luxury, Chumbe is not "spa" type luxury, but they have great snorkeling and you really feel like you have excaped to your own peice of paradise. If you are a nature lover and want to find a beach hidw-away Chumbe might fit the bill, especially since Zanzibar (main Island) can be a bit crowded and dirty.

I have used two tour operators repeatedly for organizing groups to Kenya and Tanzania both are reliable, offer good prices, and will work with you to perfect your itinerary.

In Tanzania try WilderSun ( http://www.wildersun.com/ ) we also use a Nairobi based operator because the response time is usually quicker (and we do more combined tours) their name is Outdoor Expedition Safaris ( http://www.outdoorexpeditionsafaris.com/ )

Hope that helps. Tanzania is beautiful it is worth the effort to plan well.

Hi

Either Ndutu lodge or luxury tented camps which follow the migration there are quite a few, the tents have en-suite facilities, or even central Serengeti because its not too far to drive.
