What have I Forgotten

I have read with interest many of the posts about payment.

I have paid my operator so far 30% deposit and will pay another 30% when it is 30 days before the trip starts, with the balance on arrival.

We have all had yellow fever jabs, been advised about malaria, and will purchase visa's on arrival.

Is there anything else I have missed?

Well assuming you have got the plane tickets and an up to date passport with six months to run after your planned return home and booked the pet in Kennels I think you have it covered.

Time think about packing and stocking up with $$ later .

Something to look forward to.

Leave behind your own perceptions about Africa, and make certain that you take along a good sense of humor and have a lot of patience. Everything unexpected will happen.

Travel Insurance?

Cash and credit cards to carry in pocket?

Camera and power supply issues?

Do you have a good packing list?

Binoculars?

Important phone numbers (bring them)

Make a copy of your passport and make it easily available online and keep in a separate location in your luggage

Extra batteries, for all the electronics, like camera's, laptops etc.

Powercuts for 12 hours and longer, are normal daily.

Most hotels have generators.

Scan your documents, and send them to your own email adres.

Mosquito repellent, the small bastards start eating you after dawn.

B.T.W., it's cheaper to by it over here.

Have a nice trip.
