I should have brought a ... ?

Off to a northern circuit Tanzanian safari and Zanzibar beach trip! For anyone who has taken the same trip, were there any items that you found in hindsight would've been helpful/necessary outside of the usual listed items to take? Thanks!

I found these items to be very useful.

- Flashlight (aka torch) that you wear on the forehead, to free up both hands.

- Flip-flops to wear while taking a shower, walk around tent or lodges.

- A rubber sink stopper and some detergent in those small packets to wash your underwear as needed.

We took all the 'travel trinkets' known to man !!!!

Most came home unused , but at least I was prepared! Lol !

Most useful were torches /headlamps, small bottles of hand sanitiser, hand/glasses wipes.

The only thing I wished I had was a warm scarf , but survived without it .

Most supplies tend to come back unused, however, better to be prepared. :)

Compatible adapter and anti-surge power strip. If sensitive to dust, a scarf will help. If staying overnight on the Crater rim, carry lots of warm clothing.

A small notepad to write down species names, particularly the birds. If you forget the notepad, turn to Mfuwe and QM for help.

Daniel, Since I think you leave tomorrow, I take it you are getting giddy.

Have a wonderful time. We can't wait to hear all about it.

Exactly 21.5hrs until departure!

To be honest I've never wished I had brought something I didn't. So far so good...well except for forgetting my wallet once...Sometimes I do wish I didn't care about photography as much so I wouldn't have to lug camera equip around. One day I'll go on safari without a camera. Probably end up being the best safari ever!

On 3 trips there, I never used a flashlight or headlamp, but I have always brought one. I always think the essentials are passport, money, and camera. Anything else I may have forgotten I can do without or find at my destination. Even when I forgot my spare battery and the battery charger for my camera on my first safari, it still worked out fine.
