Arusha - Lushoto - Zanzibar

We plan to visit Tanzania in October.

we plan to do safari from Arusha and then we will have 6 days left for trips until visiting Zanzibar.

We don't want to climb mountains.

We want to visit Lushoto - is it recommended?

looks like we will spend the first day and the last day on the road.

Arusha to Lushoto through Mombo - takes 6 hours? more?

What is the best way to get to Zanzibar from this area? Dar es salaam? Tanga?

maybe another stop for a night on the way?

Maybe there is another area that you recommend to visit for day trips and culture instead of Lushoto?

6 days for trips - first and last day on the road - you will manage Lushoto very well, if you have time Amani nature reserve is also an option,

some info on transport and durations

if you leave lushoto at 6am by bus and reach dar/ubungo 12pm as expected, and another 1.5hrs to 2hrs to zanzibar port due to heavy ubungo standstill trafic and some dar traffic, you could reach ferry port before last ferry at 4pm, but dont book ferry tickets until you get there just in case and if you need stay overnight in dar try econo lodge or others nerby it are plenty, otherwise tanga is 3 to 4 hours by bus and little traffic in tanga bus station to airport, also you could fly from tanga or dar,

have a look at my recent feedbacks, i was in TZ last May.
