Yellow Fever vaccine needed if 8-9 hour layover in Nairobi

Hi,

Will be flying into Nairobi at 1:30am and departing for JRO on Precision Air at 8:30am - so (if flights are on time), we'll only be in Nairobi airport for 7 hours -- as such, is a Yellow Fever vaccine certificate necessary upon landing in Tanzania?

I'd love to avoid the expense and extra jab, but if it's iffy, I'll just go ahead and take it to avoid trouble with TZ immigration.

There's been a large number of discussions about this on here. To save repeating all the arguments, you could easily do search on the topic (and search by date, not the default 'relevance'.)

In short, get the jab.

Technically the answer is no (I would make certain that I have the boarding passes with me and the flight details which show the time of arrival and departure). But, and this is a big but, it is up to the health officer present when you arrive at JRO.

Yellow fever is a crap shoot as to if you'll get asked. There are dozens of discussions on the forum on this topic.
