Transit visa at nairobi....

Hi Friends,

I am planning for Dar es flight with having transit stop at Nairobi (may be 2 hrs for plane change). Do I need transit visa for Nairobi ? Can I get it at Nairobi airport on arrival ?

Thanks & Regards,

No, you don't need a visa for Kenya as long as you stay airside and go from one Intl flight to another.

Thank you so much for the reply.

Is time of 2 hrs enough for aircraft change if i am traveling with full luggage ? Can you please give some info on shifting of luggage from one plane to other?

Thanks & Regards,

I would do my best to have my bags checked all the way through and then the 2 hrs transit time would work. If your bags can't be checked all the way through you'd need to either collect your bags and check in again (you'd need a transit visa to do this) or have the transit desk get your bags checked through to DAR. I haven't been to NBO since the fire there, so I suggest you post your question in #2 at the Kenya forum to get info on how things are working and whether the 2 hrs are sufficient.
