a place to stay with my fiance

Ima enEnglish girl going to visit my fiance in tunisia in august. I was looking for a hotel that is nice but not to expensive. Some hotels won't let us stay in them cos we aren't married yet, and I was wondering if anyone can help me find one that will let us stay. I'm looking for a hotel at Port el kantoui or near there.

Many thanks

Helen

We did see a Tunisian man with his English girlfriend at the Abou Sofiane last September.

The official rule is that a Tunisian citizen can not stay overnight in the same room of a person of the other sexe when they can not show a wedding certificate.

Hotels who don't follow that rule can be sanctioned.

Easiest way to solve it is to book two seperate rooms. They don't check where you sleep !

Thanks. I have stayed in a hotel with him before but it was to expensive for august as we are saving for wedding next year. But I rang a hotel my parents liked as they are coming with us and they said it is fine and he can stay with me
