what's the best days?

Hi, we are planning on hiring a car out to see some of the sites. What would be the best days of the week to do this?

We was thinking maybe 3 days (fri-sun) or (sat-mon). Are most places open on these days or would it be better to go mid week?

We will be staying in Skanes and would like to visit

(El Jem, Kairouan and Mahdia)

(sidi bou said and carthage)

(sbeitla)

Is it safe to go to Sbeitla or should we give this a miss and go somewhere else instead?

Thanks

Depends which month you are going. In July it is Ramadan and opening times might be different then.

El Jem and Mahdia you easy do on one day.

The mosque in Kairouan you can only visit in the morning and not on fridays, so you best do that first when you arrive in Kairouan. There is a big car park nearby. It is about an hour till hour and half driving there.

Carthago and Sidi Bou Said we did in one day - it is about 1h30 minutes driving there (along the highway)

Sbeitla takes about 3 hours to drive their. When we visited it last year we stayed overnight because we didnt want to drive back to Sousse in the dark.

Oh yes, I would go for tuesday, wednesday and thursday if you can. You stay away from closed museums on mondays and of the prayers on friday.

Meanan Thank you for the information. I'll make sure Kairouan is the first stop in the morning.

We fly next Wednesday (11th) so not long now.
