safety

we are planning to go to tunis/cathage tomorrow. although staying in a good class hotel we have gone bed and breakfast as wish to eat in local restaurants.

Given the troubles of last year do you consider it sensible to go at all at this time and also should we be considering only eating in the hotel

Go, and explore, go eat out, you will not have a problem, the only problem you have, is the cold weather.

No need to fret

We have been to Tunisia 3 times since the Revolution

We were out and about all the time

We took our teenage grandson on one of those visits. He loved it ,made many Tunisian friends .We are returning in a few weeks

Just take the usual precautions you would anywhere on holiday

Enjoy

Mick

That is excellent thank you. In spite of the snow we have made it to the departure lounge and things are looking good except for the weather there which is saying 9 degrees from tomorrow. Hopefully wife will feel a lot happier as a result of your comments.

No, but you are certainly staying in an hotel with many good restaurants. We enjoyed one lunch and two dinners there whilst staying in another hotel just a short stroll away along the beach.

If you are still interested in eating out I'd be happy to pass on names of restaurants where we ate extremely well - Gammarth, La Marsa, La Goulette, Sidi Bou Said as well as Tunis.
