Matesti Game Lodge and Water Lodge

Any updates on the sale of these properties and who might be buying them as well as when they may be reopened?

Thanks

It was bought by Matetsi Hungwe Safari - but no idea who they are, or whether they will be managing it. The problem really started when &Beyond Safaris gave up their management contract in 2011, but no news about when it will reopen or start taking bookings.

Thanks. Is there any lodges similar to them that provides the same surroundings and also offers the opportunity to visit Victoria falls for a few hours and then return to a bush lodge with a sunrise and sunset cruise and game viewing available upon return

The Stanley & Livingstone Safari Lodge is outside Victoria Falls and in it's own game area - so similar to Matetsi. Also The Elephant Camp, but that is not in such a good game area.

There is also Victoria Falls River Lodge, Chundu Lodge and Pioneers Camp, which are all situated in the Zambezi National Park and therefore offer a similar experience to what Matetsi used to offer. All 3 camps are in lovely locations right on the Zambezi River and offer game viewing activities, fishing cruises etc, plus day trips into Victoria Falls
