Historical Circuit

HI,

I have two weeks over christmas, would it be possible to do the historical circuit in two weeks overland or is that too much time on the bus ?

Also is Ethiopia a good place to be at christmas ?

1 Western Xmas is a normal working day here.

2 Weeks is fine for doing north by bus, tho you might consider one flight.

The Gondar or Bahir Dar to Lalibela, or Gondar to Axum legs are very long in hours on the bus;;;

I would stress I am an Addis expert have not bused in north other than Add to BD....

the difficult bit is Axum to Lalibela by bus; So possibly fly this bit.

So D1 in Addis

D2 Selam Bus to BD

D4 Minibus to Gondar a.m

D5 Bus G to Shire via Simiens

D6 Bus Shire to Axum

D8 Fly AX to LAL

D11 Bus LAL to Woldia

D12 Bus W to Addis.

D13 in Addis

Obviously spend an extra day if you wish somewhere

One problem with this is that Selam or Sky Bus may be fully booked if you ask a day before..

Seek other backpackers on here. If you fly one leg it will be a lot cheaper if you fly in on Ethiopian.

Feel free to send me personal messages on here
