How can you recognise a bite of a malaria mosquito?

Hello

I read that some know how many times they were bitten by a mosquito. How can you recognise this? Does it hurt? Can you see a red spot?

Mosquito bites cause a small itchy bump. I don't normally feel the actual bite, but have done once or twice. It's not bad... You wont be able to tell if you've been bitten by malaria carrying one or not just by looking, but symptoms will appear in 7-21 days if you have.

Sorry, no edit button showing. I just wanted to add that symptoms can take longer to appear than the 7-21 days mentioned above

Martinee, are you asking about mosquito bites in general? Have you never had a mosquito bite? Or do you mean just malaria carrying mosquito bites?

Yes, i've already had many mosquito bites. I think they really like me. Therefore i was asking about the malaria carrying mosquito.

Martinee, not a silly question at all.

As far as I am aware the bites look no different to a normal mosquito bite, I have certainly never read anything to the contrary. Just need to make sure you take all the precautions you can, spray, clothes and tablets.

If the mosquitos do enjoy having a nibble of you and it itches I use ing similar to this, take itch straight out for me.

A lot of people have NO reaction to mosquito bites, no itching or soreness (me included), which is why it's SO IMPORTANT to take anti-malarials and spray yourself with a replellant.
