Safety

My college-age daughter is studying in Tana until mid May, and I am thinking of joining her for 2 weeks. We are curious whether anyone sees a problem with 2 American women traveling alone anywhere in the country. We are particuarly interested in going into the southern areas.

There is no problem to point out for Americans getting to Madagascar. However like in all coutries where you are visitors, you are no supposed to wonder in dangerous areas at night holding cameras etc...

The southern areas is a very goog part to start the visit of the island. You can contact one of the travel professionals who can provide you english speaking guides and/or vehicles.
