Madagascar: Cash / Card

We will be spending 10 days in Madagascar - 2 in Tana and the rest in Nosy.

Is card facilities readily available everywhere? Should we rather opt for cash?

You have ATMs ( Visa network mostly ) in most places in Antananarivo and there are also some in Nosy Be ( Hell-Ville ). You can work with your VISA card and withdraw but Maybe bring a bit of cash as a precaution in case you can't find a ATM or the network is down.

I confirm, you have a card facility there. Hotel and Restaurant will charge you more but it works. Bring few CASH anyway if you expect to be in contact with local people.

If you get out of these areas in my experience cash is needed, bring $US and exchange at airport. For others in small towns cash was king.
