Solo travel to Mauritius

I will be travelling to Mauritius on the 16th to 2qst June 2017 by myself. It is popularly known as a romantic destination. I will be staying South West of it, what are the things one can do when travelling solo. I like keeping to myself but looking forward to exploring the place at the same time.

Mauritius is more than a romantic destination but you will be a tad isolated in the south west.

If you were in the west or north west, you would had been utilise the bus system more. You could consider hiring a car or using a taxi driver for the day but there are plenty of things you can do for yourself, it is more than just a honeymoon destination.

Take a look at the following link for things to do.

As a solo traveller please do read the articles on Safety in the Top Questions to the right of this page.

Use common sense - don't flash valuables, don't walk alone on deserted beaches or unlit roads at night, if you hire a car keep the door locked at all times and don't drive at night.

Hello. Which area will you be staying? You could go and watch dolphins at Tamarin. You could visit Casela park, go mountain-hiking at Le Morne (although a group hike would be preferable). You can also try snorkelling...

Please try this link: tourism-mauritius.mu/en-ind/discover/the-wes…

Be careful if you're out and about at nights.

Alyssa.

Agree with Preston. Mauritius is so much more than a just a romantic destination. You can also visit other regions of Mauritius instead of limiting yourself only to the Southwest region.
