Hotel Choice in April

We are planning to get married in the first 2 weeks of April next year in Mauritius and are currently trying to find a suitable hotel.

Can anyone advise what the weather is likely to be like at this time of the year? We obviously want a dream wedding so if there is a high chance of rain at this time then we'd be a bit more reluctant to book.

As for hotels we are down to Le Mauricia, Preskil Beach and Merville Beach. Any thoughts which is best? We'd just like a relaxed wedding/honeymoon with the option to explore outside the hotel a few times during a 2 week stay.

Thanks

Hi,

For weather see www.world-weather-travellers-guide.com

You will be there towards the tail end of summer.

Le Mauricia is a good 4* Beachcomber hotel within walking distance of Grand Baie and well worth considering:

Merville is a 3* hotel a little futher out from Grand Baie and a little dated, but still worth considering, especially the bungalow rooms which ae better than those in the main block.

Preskil is south and a bit isolated, close to the airport at Blue Bay. Nice hotel and setting. Nearest town is Mahebourg, though unlike Grand Baie its not geared to tourism. Good beach and snorkelling and near Marine Park.

Take a look at the reviews on here, though don't be put off by the odd negative ones, as we are all different and want different things from our holidays.

Then check tour operators and compare prices.

Remember that some hotels have wedding offers too.

Best wishes,

Bronia :)
