Mauritius things to do?

We are a family of four travelling to mauritius in 3 weeks.

Want to hire a car to see some of the island. Not sure where we should go or what to see. Any must see or do things?

Is it better to hire a car and driver or are the roads ok and signposted etc?

How much should we expect to pay for a day with car/ driver?

Many thanks for any advice

You can hire a car and get a good map to explore the island. Check out the Globetrotter map that comes with the guidebook.

The roads are generally god although heavy traffic around Port Louis. Signposting and driving standards could be better.

A good tip is to divide Mauritius into quarters and explore it that way. Such as doing the North West, North East, South West and South East.

Hi, we are also a family of four thinking of Mauritius for Oct. I want more than just a beach and water sports Holiday.

What else is there to do that would keep teenage daughters amused and give us interesting places to explore?

Thx
