Dress Code (children) Heritage Awali

Hi, I know I've seen a dress code for adults on here before - am I right in thinking men its long trousers, closed shoes and collared shirts/polo shirts- but for children, is it acceptable for then to wear dress shorts in the evening?

Thanks!

I haven't stayed at Awali but shorts were acceptable for children at all the hotels we've stayed at in Mauritius.
