price comparison to to other destinations for eating out.

we are from UK and would like to get a general idea of how the cost of eating out in Mauritius compares to other places. I don't mean fine dining at one end or McDonald, KFC etc. at the other end.

We find Far East and South Africa really cheap but much of Europe more than expensive than UK. Where does Mauritius come in this comparison.

We plan to stay at the North of the Island around Grand Baiae or Flic Flac.

My experience, we are also from UK - Eating out in Italian, European, Mauritian or Chinese style restaurants in Flic en Flac, which is on the west coast incidentally, are cheaper than UK unless you buy wine by the bottle and that really bumps up the costs.

Far East, Thailand, Sri Lanka and China we found very cheap so certainly more expensive in Mauritius. Prices vary from one restaurant to another but as a rule we find eating out good value for money. In hotels the prices are far more expensive, as are the drinks.
