Advice Required on Honeymoon in Mauritius

We have decided on Mauritius for our honeymoon in early September 2015 and are looking for advice/information on a few things:

1. From what we have read the weather is good at this time of year and it is better to be on the north/west side of the island due to the east side being windy - is this true?

2. Can you recommend any travel agents online that do cheap/good deals to Mauritius?

3. Is there a lot to do on the island or would it be better to book AI and be selective on things we do?

4. The main question really is on whether to be AI, HB or SC? We have come across Coin De Mire which we seem to of taken a liking to.

Look forward to hearing from anyone. Thanks

1) Yes west and north are best in September.

2) Check out Mercury Direct, Best at Travel, Letsgo2, Hayes and Jarvis, Netflights for a start.

3) Depends on your interests - see Things to do in the Top Questions to the right of this page and also in the

drop down list on the green bar at the top of this page.

4) Coin de Mire is a good 3* and one of my old favourites - stayed here over 5 times.

Location wise its good - the bus stops directly outside the hotel and you can be in Pereybere or Grand

within 15 minutes so no need for AI as lot of places to lunch there from restuarants to the usual fast food

outlets. You can buy soft drinks and alcohol from Super U at Grand Baie or Winners in Pereybere and

keep them in your room fridge.

The one minus is that the beach is across the road but that's no big deal IME.

You have a choice of deluxe or superior rooms.- we were OK with the superior rooms.
