Vapour cigarette

Hi

Does anyone know if you can take a vapour cigarette into mauritius with no problem? Obviously the liquid refills will be in the suitcase but the actual cigarette will be in my hand luggage.

Hi,

Looking at the article I would say they aren't allowed:

lexpress.mu/article/…A9lectroniques

But looking at this it seems they are on sale online:

vapenetworks.com/e-cigarettes/mauritius-e-ci…

But seems here they have problems:

e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-foru…

It may be they are banned under the Public Health act.

Thanks for the reply bronia. So many people here smoke them. It does not harm the public, actual cigarettes do more harm.

Hopefully someone has taken one with them and can tell me as I'd rather smoke this than the real thing.

I do hope someone can shed some light on this subject for you Shamus ;)

I agree they are much more preferable to the real thing which we all know is harmful.

I stopped smoking years ago with the aid of nicotine gum and never looked back so I understand perfectly well where you are coming from.

Incidentally cigarette papers are banned in Mauritius - something to do with misuse.

Let's hope someone can help give us a definitive answer soon ;)

Wendy I do know why cigarette papers are banned thank you.

Also I don' t think it's a good thing to be telling people to possibly break the law - as it is we aren't sure of the legality of importing these devices but should it be illegal (and it possibly is - Western Australia recently banned these as well as other countries) - then the OP could well get into trouble should he be found with the device.

I'm with Bronia on this. I don't think TA forums are the place to encourage people to go against airline policies which are in place for a reason. It doesn't matter if you agree with these policies or not - they should be adhered to. As I non-smoker I would be annoyed to have someone beside me blatantly flouting the rules and using an e-cigarette during a flight.
