Star gazing

Hi we are staying on the west side (Le Meridien) in October and want to bring a telescope. Can anyone recommend a "dark sky" site?

Its strange but Mauritius tends to have good clear skies and street lightning away from large towns is minimal. I expect given the Meridian is by the sea, expect you to set up the telescope very near the hotel, by the beach or the area where they hold wedding ceremonies (assuming the hotel lightning does not get in the way).

Take a stroll on the beach away from Meridian and Victoria hotels and you should also find a dark place.
