You could consider Pearle Beach hotel, Intercontinental (Balaclava), Le Meridien for starters.

Definitely consider Intercontinental.

Its a good hotel at Balaclava in the north west and caters very well for Indian guests.

I stayed there for a long weekend - good hotel with nice rooms and bathrooms. Its a 20 min drive from Grand Baie.

Pearle Beach is really a 3* though it markets itself as a 4*. I looked around when it first reopened and liked it but it seems from the reviews its not so good now. Location wise its close to Flic en Flac which has shops and restaurants.

Hello,

If my budget is for 4* hotel and I am an Indian , I would never think of anything except Intercontinental. Hot fav among Indians specially vegetarians. Amazing room, awesome beaches , great food.

Cheers..

Centara isn't a bad hotel but its in a rather isolated location in a windy area on the north east coast.

It is however on a bus route.

The sea isn't ideal for swimming either

I visited it to look round and quite liked the rooms and everything else.

Take a look at my visit review here:

The recent reviews aren't bad either:

Not bad if you just want to chill out.

Merville is a good 3* in a good location, being quite close to Grand Baie.

Some rooms are dated but the bungalow rooms are nice enough.

Casuarina is a good value 3*. I stayed here twice and quite liked it.

The rooms are a bit dated though there are some have had a refurb. The gardens are lovely though.

Location wise its good - on the bus route at Trou aux Biches village.

The main downside is its small beach is across the road.

Plantation has recently been taken over from Apavou by Attitude. It will be nice when they finish the refurb scheduled for early 2015 as it was run down and had a pretty bad reputation.

Its a 20 minute drive from the town of Grand Baie.

Both are good hotels in Grand Baie area and I would find it a difficult choice as well.

I would ask you to look at the reviews for both hotels and decide.

Merville is a good popular 3* - its main block rooms are dated so look at the bungalow rooms which are much nicer.

Le Mauricia is also a good choice - DE DeeCapeTown has stayed here and will be better able to advise you on it.

Location wise its perfect - within walking distance of Grand Baie itself.
