Trekking to the top of Mt Brandberg

Did anyone recently climbed up to Mt Brandberg? Did you ask a permission from National Heritage Council? How much did it cost?

Yes, just back form 11 days visitng rock art sites on the upper Brandberg. You do need NHC permits for any activity on the Brandberg save a visit to the White Lady / Tsisa Island sites, and you must be accompanied at all times by an accredited NHC guide. The contact person at the NHC is Bertold Karipi, a very polite and helpful fellow.

For regular hiking/climbing trips the NHC permit is N$350 per person, the customary guide fee is N$100 per day per person. Permits may be arranged at the NHC in Windhoek, but also Basil at the Brandberg Rest Camp in Uis can sort them out in a day.
