For Indians, you don't need to apply VISA to entet into Bhutan. However, you need to get road permit to access to other valleys besides Paro and Thimphu. You can only obtain this permit in Thimphu.

Please allow at least half a day to find the office and get your permit done.

Next, your five days to travel from South East of Bhutan to South Western of Bhutan is possible. But little sightseeing, especially your plan to travel from Bumthang to Samdrup Dzongkha.

The road is bhutan is very windy. If you have motion sickness, you will have alot more stops on the road and this will cause delay in reaching next town.

I can predict that your 5/6 days tour in Bhutan will be on the road 50% of your time and 40% rest time and meals. After the driving, you might not have the energy to sightseeing. Hence, your plan is not possible if you want to really visit temples and Dzong.

A typically West to East Bhutan tour needs at least 10-12 days.

Construction on the road will cause delays up to four hours in places if you don't time your arrivals to get through when they allow traffic.

Hi RSAJITH,

You need almost 14 days to cover from WEST to EAST including everything. The Itinerary you have mentioned all you are doing is travelling from one place to another. In Bhutan it takes time traveling from one place to another even though the distance could be less . Because the roads are curvey and some places roads are not in good condition so the avg speed is 40-50km, rare case cars go in 80km. For an example from Punakha - Bumthang is 212km , it will take about 10hours to reach so you will not have enough time to explore the place . You can comfortably cover West and Central Bhutan within 10 days , which I have done!

Happy Planning..

Regards,

Shreya
