Varanasi - yes or no

Planning trip to India for March - Rajasthan and Kerala, cant decide whether to take a quick trip to Varanasi. Have heard mixed reports, seems you either love it or hate it. What would you recommend - is it worth the trip?

You see Varanasi is a very old city, it's a holi place on the bank of Ganges, where saints and devotees co-exists with the tourists. If you are interested in Indian heritage and culture, you should visit Varanasi. But, keep in your mind that, its a congested city where the bulls stroll in the narrow lanes.

Just to add: it's not an exotic place for holidays.

The heart of Hinduism lies in this city. It takes you to a different world altogether, where you will see dead bodies burning by the ghats, sadhus (Hindu saints) chanting, hundreds of people taking a dip in the ganges and Bhang (cannabis) drink for the kick.

A visit to India is incomplete without Varanasi.
