You may like to consider taking a train upto Amritsar and hiring a car for the Amritsar/Dharamshala/Shimla/Hardwar portion.Train from Hardwar to Agra. Get a car from Jaipur to pick you up at Agra ( as you will be billed more for your Jaipur portion otherwise).

The itinerary is doable but you could consider doing more is a smaller geographical area.

Am I going in the correct order clockwise?

I have this idea that having a driver with us will make life easier.

Definitely hiring a car and driver will be comfortable and give you flexibility.

Monsoon in this part of india is never heavy to disturb your travel plan you may get some rain.

The reason for suggesting an overnight train for Amritsar from Delhi is you save a night's accommodation and a full day, as you would spend about 7 hours on the road if you take a car. For journeys over 6 hours, If there is a convenient train on which you can get a reservation, trains would be the better option.

Dear Guest

you have nice itinerary. only few changing on route. its simply long driving fm Delhi to amritsar and shimla to haridwar. also haridwar to Agra leg.

but you be able to run more driving then perfect.

hire a reliable driver for complete tour through

out of seven states of India.

have a nice tour with lots of fun.

cheers

If you stay with the car option you could take a detour near Meerut to visit Sardhana ( Begum Sumroo). You could also go beyond Hardwar to Shivpuri 12 km past Rishikesh. You could continue to Dehradun Mussourie and ovewrnight at Poanta Sahib enroute to Shimla. From Shimla you could take a scenic route via Bilaspur, Palampur Kangra Dharamsala Pathankot Amritsar.

The Amritsar Agra road likely to be better than the road to Jaipur from Amritsar. You could travel Agra/Fatehpur Sikri/ Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary/Jaipur Delhi.

What would be your pick... as both look about the same distance . Definitely going with a driver and have decided to stop also at Jalandhar.

Thanks for your time.

Debbie, your last rote also seems Ok, you can take a stop in Delhi again, that is the best way.
