First trip to India

Jan-Feb 2015, want to visit India, first time. Open to any guidance, advice. Would obviously like to see as much as possible. Luxury isn't the key; enjoyment is. Willing to travel in small party, just want some guidance on reliable tour operators. Prefer flight and tour all in one deal if possible. Hope someone can help. Thanks, Dave Whitworth, Barnsley, UK

Dear visitors

Your welcome for your first time visit to India. There is too many travel agencies or independent services providers as per your budget and interest.

Normally first timer people start their tour with golden triangle (Delhi - Agra - jaipur ) and few top interested cities of rajasthan. many people hire on TripAdvisor can help you if you PM to few DE or members.

I hope you got everything by everyone so try to figure out first your itinerary and after this take quote from 3 - 4 reliable services providers. Hope it will be help you.

Suggestion for places to visit very much depends upon no. of days you have with you. However for first timer Golden triangle which can be completed in 4-5 days. This is very popular tourist circuit to see the Taj and other grand monuments built by mughals. Rest depends upon your interest and no. of days.

For the first trip to India. Kerala would be a welcome surprise. More friendlier than north. More relaxed. No extreme climate. You can arrive in Kochi by emirates and fly out of Trivandrum. Have a look at Kerala forum too.

I recommend to book your flights from UK and avail the services of an experienced local tour operator from the area, you wish to visit.
