When purchasing ACAT and Tims card do you need to show your insurance coverage?

No – Insurance for trekkers isn’t obligatory (But is, Obviously highly recommended) – But If you hire out trekking staff then insurance for them is, but basic insurance for trekking staff is now included in the Blue TIMS Permit

Good Luck and Happy Safe Trekking

Yes.!!! - you have to. Necessarily you don't have to show your detail to the TIMS office representative. However, you are required to fill the insurance policies and an emergency contact in their application form. This is the first place to submit your emergency contact detail and insurance policies detail for independent trekkers. If you are wondering how exactly TIMS form would look like and the required field this image would help you understand. nestadventure.com/ckfinder/…20.jpg

I hope this helps!

Hi,

You don't have to be insured, but if you are, the TIMS card provides a space to write down the details. Although as far as I know no one has ever been rescued using the TIMS system. It's simply another way of extracting money from the public.

Post number two is, presumably unwittingly, confusing the issue.
