can you buy this SIM card at the airport? do you need spare photos for ID or other purposes?
Hi Indie,
I am not sure you can buy in airport most likely you won't be able to purchase it. You need to submit certified photo copy of your passport and passport number to be mentioned in the application form. You can get your passport copy certified by the soliciator once you show them your original passport they will certify it. It will cost you USD 2 upto USD 5 to get certified. You have to visit Telecom office the nearest one from TIA is at Mitrapark which is abt 1 km away from TIA.
Please check the following link for more detail information

I don't think I want to be spending time clearing these bureaucratic hurdles.
Does anyone know of a PAYG SIM card that can be bought in UK that is cheap to call UK from Nepal?
Get Ncell sim card its easy to get it from mobile shop .They accept photocopy of your passport and you don't need to certify it . This company is very flixable in these matter.
Or get O2 from UK and get it roaming
NCell SIM cards are available at the airport exit by the pre-paid taxi booth. It's the cheapest way of staying in touch. We put $1.50 credit on which lasted for 2 weeks.
