Which accomodation is best in Kopan Monastery?

Which accomodation is best in Kopan Monastery? I am planning to do the short term course and cost is not a barrier.

info about Kopan Monastery can be found here

not sure if you can do the course staying outside

you can contact them - if you can then you can stay in any of the hotels in KTM - see below

since KTM is not that big - from any point you can get there in less than an hour (traffic permitting of course)

two of the best hotels closest to the monastery would be Hyatt and Dwarika (this one will be about 20 mins drive) but then center of the KTM from here is another 10 mins where you have more options for accomodations

all the best

I have stayed at Kopan a number of times and find the basic accommodation more than adequate - a simple room with two beds, bedside table and (limited) clothes storage. and a shared bathroom.

There is accommodation with higher standards including attached bathooms, heating and air conditioning. Some rooms have a separate sitting room. These are more expensive of course. Kopan's website used to give the name of the accommodation which would have helped me to give more detail, but now just lists the description and price. The introductory course is popular so getting single occupancy of double rooms is unlikely and if you do have a preference from the description then book early to have the best chance of getting your first choice.

Attending the course but staying outside of Kopan is impractical - the first meditation session is early in the morning (6.30?) and the gates are locked overnight. The last teaching and discussion session ends at 9.00pm.
