Taipei Train Tickets, New Year Count Down Spots.

I would like to ask, if it is advisorable (or if there is a need to) for me to get the train tics to Jiufen and Pingxi line in advance?

I do know that for Pingxi, i will need to take a train to Ruiefang, then change to pingxi line.

As for JiuFen, the same would be to take a train to RuieFang, then cross opp the station where there is a supermarket and take a keelung bus there.

And another question, does anyone know where will i be able to get a gd spot to view the fireworks? as i would be spending my New Yr over there :) I know YangMingShan will be able to see BUT its way too far out, around Taipei 101 would be way too pack, any place or restaurant to view in comfort or at least not so squeezy?

Hope to hear from you all out there :)

Much Thanks!

It would probably be best to ask this question on the Taipei forum here: tripadvisor.com/ShowForum-g293913-i9546-Taip…
