Laundry service in Thailand??

I'm going to be in Thailand for a month in November. I'm going to try and pack as little as possible and imagine that I'll need to wash clothes quite a bit. Anyone have any advice on the best and most efficient way to do this? Do budget guesthouses have laundry services? Was it a painless process? Thanks!!

Pretty much all guesthouses have a laundry service - very reasonably priced from 25 baht - 50 baht per kilo, normally taking 24 hours

In any town or city, just take a walk around your hotel or guest house. Usually in a soi (lane off a main street), you will see an open shop front with a woman ironing clothes inside. No sign or anything, but this is a laundry shop. Often if you leave your stuff there in the morning, you can pick it up in the evening, all nice and clean professionally ironed.

In Bangkok, in tourist areas like Sukhumvit, look for small haircut/massage shops at the mouth of sois which often have a "laundry" sign in their windows. They send the stuff out to a central place and have it back within 24 hours.

Both these options are considerably less expensive and more efficient than most hotel services.

There's an express laundry in soi 22 which will get your stuff clean in a couple of hours, but they charge.

In Banglamphu ("Khao San Road Area"), there are numerous laundry shops aimed at travelers. For instance, on the corner of Soi Rambutri and Soi Chana Songkhram.

And if you're travelling fast and don't have time to leave your stuff at a laundry, generic underwear, shorts and t-shirts are dirt cheap at street markets everywhere.

There's never any excuse in Thailand to have to wear unclean clothes, or to carry massive amounts of clothing with you.

Is there laundry services? Is it hot in Thailand? I guess it isn't in the north but everywhere else it is.

One thing to remember: they will not wash your underwear or socks. At least they will not want to, so don't make them do something they don't want to do.

Cheap. Efficient. But don't give them something you wont really miss or cost much to replace(ie silk).
