recommendations for boutique style / small scale hotels

hi we are planning our first trip to thailand ( for next year) and looking at going to koh samui, chang mai, and krabi.

dose this sound ok? we really wnat nice beaches etc ( not into partying/ shopping)

we are a couple in our late 30's.

we are interested in staying at small boutique type resorts ( do not like big resorts at all) love being close to the beach. interested in relaxing, stie seeing , eating!

any suggestions would be much appriceated.

Not sure of your budget, but Poppies in Samui is worth checking out. Whilst it is in the south end of Chewang which fills people with horror, but is quiet and near lots of restuarants and is as quiet or busy as you want it to be!!
