Thailand in October 2012

Hi guys

Need your help!!!!! Spending two weeks in Thailand this October and can’t decide where to go. Was thinking about:

5 days Bangkok

3 days Koh Samui

3 days Krabbi

Was thinking about going to the Half Moon party on Koh Phangan, but I’m not a fan of tech music or getting wasted to an inch of mylife – my friends would like to go to check it out.

Basically we would like to eat some great food, check out some sites, chill by the beach and islands and maybe catch a bit of fishing.

Tourists are everywhere so I guess there’s no getting away from that, but I don’t want to go to places which resemble the Costa del Sol – I want to know that I’m in Thailand

Any recommendations?

Krabi will be pretty wet on October - its well into the monsoon season.

October is not a good month for Thailand, I would seriously change destination, Thailand is a fabulous place but there's no point in going to a place if its the rainy season, especially if you want to do a bit of fishing.

Hi,

The north is often very nice in October, perhaps you should trade Krabi with a nice hotel and pool in Chiang Mai. Samui and nearby islands would be a better bet in October than the Andaman coast.

Cheers

Hi

We spent 3 weeks in Thailand in October 2010. We had beautiful weather in Hua Hin, which is a great place to visit for a few days. We had overcast but warm and dry weather in Koh Tao, rain in Kanchanaburi and hot and mostly dry in Bangkok.

I'd avoid Krabi and either head South on the east coast only or like paulosussex says Chiang Mai has plenty to do.

Hi,

You can eat great food just about everywhere in Thailand. I would also give Krabi a miss if you stick to your original schedule since to get there from Koh Samui will cost you time. If you want a beach destination you could look into visiting Koh Samet which is a bus/ferry journey from Bangkok. And, as noted above Chiang Mai is worth visiting. Also, read up on Kanchanaburi which may appeal.

wow million thanks guys that amazing feedback. Unfortunately October is the only time I can go - hopefully the weather is kind. Think Krabbi will have to wait for another day - Chiang Mai seems a cool place to visit.

Was there last September, some rains but still we enjoyed the trip a lot! It's about you if you feel amazing to walk on the rain or not!

If you've already booked it don't worry about the weather , you can never tell what it'll be like every years different.
