How to book Ferry online

Hi,

I am going to Thailand in Dec 2012 - Jan 2013.

My travel plan is

Bangkok -> Koh Samui by flight

Koh Samui -> Koh Phangan

Koh Phangan -> Phi Phi Island

Phi Phi Island -> Phuket

Phuket -> Bangkok by flight

Can you please help me with how do I book my travel between Koh Samui -> Koh Phangan -> Phi Phi Island -> Phuket?

I tried booking a ferry in ferrysamui.com. I got a confirmation page that the transaction is complete but did not receive the confirmation\reservation ticket email yet. So I am a little apprehensive if it is safe to buy ferry tickets online from this site. Please suggest.

Thanks,

Souvik Basu

Hi

You can't go to phi phi by ferry from koh phagnan. From koh phagnan you have to get to mainland Surathani thani then bus to krabi then ferry to koh phi phi.

Or from koh phagnan to koh Samui then fly with Bangkok airs to either krabi or Phuket airport then car transfer to pier then ferry to koh hi phi.

For ferry and speed boat between koh Samui and koh phagnan have a look at these site

www.seatranferry.com/

www.lomprayah.com/

These company are reputable company and you can book online. I think Samuiferry.com is an agent ( I could be wrong)

Thanks sweetpea6468.

I will check the links you provided.

I just received the email confirmation from ferrysamui.com.

In their FAQ they had mentioned that it may take about 24hrs for the email to come, which I missed.

Koh Phangan to Phi Phi Island travel looks a little tricky. Will most probably book the combo tickets as you mentioned

Lomprayah also do a ticket to Phi Phi from Samui, but I'm not sure if you can book this online, you might have to do it once in Samui.

Thanks all.

I booked a ticket from www.lomprayah.com

The order confirmation does not specify the mode of transport.

It only mentions:

Koh Phangan 2-January-2013 7:15:00 AM (Normal) Koh Phi-Phi 3:30:00 PM

Is this a Ferry + bus + ferry ticket?

It will be a catamaran and bus or minibus. The last part of the journey to Koh Phi Phi will be on a passenger ferry.

Hi all,

You all seem to know your way around Thailand, so I thought id ask a few questions if thats OK.

Is it cheaper to book whilst out there or over here online? I know my dates etc as im on a tight schedule.

Also, I have to leave the Koh Phangan the day after Full Moon (29th November)

A friend recommended booking this now as opposed to once there as the ferries get really busy .

I think my mates booked our coach/ferry from Phi Phi to Samui with ferry sumui which was about 1,300 bht...is it cheaper out there?

Thank you

Hi,

I don't know about saving money by booking in advance but if you plan to travel on a lomprayah catamaran the day after the FMP it is a good idea to book now. However, do note that there are larger Raja car ferries that sail to the mainland and you can book once you arrive on the island.

Hi

Agree with Andy, book now for peak season, especially if you have specic dates and times. On my last trip in May we found booking online ahead was cheaper than in person.
